Family Recovery Skills Program

Home-Based Skills Development Program will address valuable skills that an individual needs for successful recovery from addiction and to maintain healthy relationships with their children. Under Mainecare, participants with a Substance Use Disorder, who are involved with or at risk of involvement with Child Protective Services.

All of these valuable services through the Home Skills Development Program will be delivered in a participant home or location in which the participant identifies as their living environment and be provided between the hours of 8:00 am and 8:00 pm. The Home Skills Development Program is administered by professional staff certified through Muskie MHRT/C and CADC, Board of Alcohol and Drug Counselors. Services will be overseen by licensed clinical counselors working within the scope of their practice.

Eligibility for this program a participant must meet all 3 of the following criteria:

  • Participants are enrolled in Mainecare
  • Involved with or at-risk of involvement with Child Protective Services
  • A Substance Use Disorder diagnosis/documented by a licensed practitioner

 
Upon final approval into the program, AngleZ Behavioral Health Services will conduct a comprehensive assessment that will identify the areas of need based on an participants life skills ability. These identified needs will then drive a treatment plan that will be developed to address the following areas:
 

Life skills such as:

  • Accessing community resources.
  • Connecting to Twelve (12) Step Programs or other support groups.
  • Connecting and maintaining relationships with natural supports.
  • Developing and maintaining healthy relationships with peers in the community.

 

Independent living skills such as:

  • Accessing community resources.
  • Connecting to Twelve (12) Step Programs or other support groups.
  • Connecting and maintaining relationships with natural supports.
  • Developing and maintaining healthy relationships with peers in the community.
  • Selecting and participating in educational, vocational, and social activities.
  • Overcoming social isolation and withdrawal.

 

Coping skills, including but not limited to instruction and practice of:

  • Symptom management.
  • Stress management.
  • Problem-solving.
  • Resolving conflict.

 

Medication administration and monitoring skills:

  • Medication administration and monitoring skills.
  • Reminders to take medication.
  • Assisting with refills.
  • Going with the participant to substance use treatment appointments.
  • Follow-through with substance use treatment recommendations.
